Moradabad Development Authority (MDA) – Overview
The Moradabad Development Authority (MDA), established under the Uttar Pradesh Urban Planning and Development Act of 1973, is responsible for the planned development of Moradabad and its surrounding regions. Its primary functions include formulating and implementing development plans, regulating land use to prevent unauthorized constructions, and coordinating with various agencies to develop urban infrastructure. The MDA is also tasked with executing housing schemes to meet the needs of different socio-economic groups, ensuring environmental sustainability in its projects, and providing support in essential services such as water supply, electricity, and sewage disposal. Additionally, the authority focuses on enhancing public welfare, O&M of public amenities and services.
